I’m happy to share our progress in the last three years. As a first step it was decided to provide services to the people who were undergoing dialysis. Our service to the needy through Sarvagnanagar Dialysis Centre at Kadugonadanahalli, Bengaluru started in 2004. This center provides free dialysis services for the patients from poor families. This has been my dream project, I wanted to help people with kidney failure live longer and healthier by reducing the cost of care, which will reduce financial burden on the family. I’m happy that in the last 3 years 6455 dialysis was conducted. Each dialysis costs around INR 1650/- for us and we conducted 5412 dialysis for free of cost.
Further services were expanded to provide comprehensive out-patient care. The center has a pharmacy which stocks quality low cost medicines and laboratory. All this service started with the purpose of making care easily accessible and affordable for the people in need. The focus of out-patient care is towards supporting people living with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, etc., by providing quality care. Many poor patients with diabetes and hypertension are given with free medicines and other services regularly to improve their quality of life and reduce complications. Others get the service at a subsidized rate.
So far 12899 individuals have registered for service in this center.
Outreach program focuses on preventive care, early diagnosis and creating awareness about illness. Focus is also on creating awareness about social welfare schemes.
Women empowerment has been another agenda for our NGO through skill development Centers. Skill development centers in KG Halli and HBR Layout are providing skill enhancement training for free of cost to the women to make them economically independent.
I am pleased about the services we have provided so far and look forward to reach out to many in the coming years. I’m proud of our professional and administrative staff who enable us to implement our activities.
